Just about 2 years ago the entire world was changed by a virus, specifically SARS-CoV-2. Face masks became *de rigueur* worldwide, commerce was largely halted for a few months, international travel became a memory; eventually those precautions were rolled back but many of them still remain to this day, and indeed the COronaVIrus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to infect and kill people with its evolutionary variants, of which omicron is the latest major instance.

The struggle continues, and this site is dedicated to featuring the latest scientific developments on the coronavirus because our society may return to a kind of “normal” but it’s clear that unlike polio or smallpox the coronavirus is here to stay, and is just something we have to learn to live with.
